Since most of the people are getting the receipt notice for 2nd July application. I would like to start the tracking from July-3 onwards.

I got my H1B Petition approved and have been working on OPT status since August. I made a Visa appoitment for tommorow and while taking the appointment I chose the Visa Renewal category instead of a new H1B visa.
My interview is tommorow and I am not able to change or cancel the date as in Delhi it needs to be done 2 working days before.
I want to know if anyone has gone though a similar experience and what should I do?

HR of my Company screwed up with the content of the EB2 Ad posted in sunday newspaper. To save money they posted a partial AD with a link to the job listing on the companys website saying "Please goto this link for further information".....
Would this be ok?
If the company is paying the lawyer for the process, you just relax. They must have consulted the lawer before giving the ad and get directions, because the lawyer has to send these evidences when filing.
If not, you better check with an expert.

When you reach NSC or TSC, you talk to an IO. Who really is an IO? Are they first line of customer service at the centers? They then send requests etc to officers handling your cases?

I am not sure if this discussion may be opened by someone already. I could'nt find it and hence I am opening a new one.
I know its not required to have SSN for starting the job from 10/01/2007. I am eager to know if we can apply for SSN before this date or do we need to wait until Oct 1st. Thanks

According to this article on USCIS website "Petition Filing and Processing Procedures for Form I-140 (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=cfe8745543256210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCR D&vgnextchannel=68439c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1 RCRD)" on question#3 it clearly states that multiple I140 Petitions can be applied in different categories.
But I am not sure how this works when the first I140 is pending appeal.
Has anybody gone through this process.

hi my wife had filed 485 on aug 2nd, we got the receipts aug 23rd monday.

Also I got my GC approved today, i had filed 485 during july fiasco.

May be it is worth it or may be not....In www.cnn.com there is a section (on the left hand side) asking what the democrats should do first. (They are basically asking our opinion)
I wrote down some items that I thought they should discuss, namely, in the area of legal immigration relief for EB categories.

Yes but I was thinking, spouse and children are counted in family based visas and how exempting them will benefit EB visas. Correct me if I'm wrong. :confused:

Hi friends
I am currently on H1B, which was recently approved under cap exempt for a non-profit employer.But, now I 'd like to work for a profit employer ,which comes under quota .So, can't I change to this new capped employer by filing a new petition at this time where there is no quota available or should my H1B be counted against cap once in the six years period to be able to change employers whether they are profit or non-profit employers? Could anybody please give me some input with all your previous experiences.Thanks in advance.

Just fyi to be cautious.
There was a CBP Admission Review Squad at Washinton Dulles Airport on 11th evening. They sent all passengers from multiple flights to secondary check where they had to wait for over 4 hours. They were instances were people were not admitted or given just 1 month entry with specific instructions written on I94 that they cannot apply for EOS or AOS. This is for visiting Visa.

I havenot received any FP notice till yet though I have got my 485 notice.
If I want to change the location of FP,can I do that?Because my project is getting over and I have to relocate to Texas from California.
If my FP test is scheduled for California,Can I apply for a change in location for Texas?

Hi,
I applied on July2nd, I got the receipts on september7th and FP for oct23rd but no EAD yet! I have seen most of them get EAD but no FP, Does it matter which comes first should I wait sometime after FP for EAD?
